Community based assessment on Knowledge, Attitude and Practices (KAP), Risk Factors and One Health Perspective of Brucellosis in rural and urban settings of Pakistan: A Cross-Sectional Study

Bovine brucellosis is an endemic zoonotic infection of ruminants in Pakistan with detrimental impacts on livestock economy. The major losses caused by animals include abortions, week calves, infertility, and reduced milk production. Regardless the prevalence disease, limited data available about Pakistan. present study aimed to access one health concept prospective Brucellosis among small-scale dairy farmers examining knowledge, attitude practices at farms household level that might pose a risk for humans contracting brucellosis. A community-based cross-sectional survey was conducted small (n=333) rural urban areas district Rawalpindi Islamabad. results revealed almost 74.17% participants knew animal 69.97% were able identify symptoms 58.26% showed knowledge transmission disease from humans. majority (70.87%) used raw making other products. Most are unaware routes factors Almost all participants, except veterinarians, including butchers, farm owners workers, slaughterhouse workers involved least risky practice. moderate poor understanding emphasize need initiate awareness programs educate who high along improvement vaccination strict implementation eradication policy which should be devised government.
